Topic: 40th Bday present - HELP!!!! Posted: 16 May 2008 at 8:28pm |
Help - my DH turns 40 soon, and I am so stumped as to what to get him. I really want to get him something special, but everything that I think of is way too expensive.
He doesnt play any conventional sports, and has all the kit / gear for kiting (which is his thing). He doesnt wear jewelery so that rules that out....
Am really stumped! Any ideas?

Is he a bit of a sentimental type guy? You could get a nice photo album thing (with black pages or something) and get photos from newborn through to now with all his milestones and important events in it? I think I might do that for my parents 40th wedding anniversary next month

Its tough, hes not really that sentimental, and doesnt have a perm desk at work to display pics on or anything. We got an album of O made up a while ago, so not sure he would be keen on that. We already have a digital photo frame, and TBH we dont use it!
Thanks for the suggestions though....keep them coming!! He is SOOOOO tough to buy for at the best of times, but especially now!!

Umm ok then - well what about paying for him to do something - whatever he may be into - skydive/bunjyjump/hot laps in a V8/deep sea fishing/golf somewhere nice... or would you prefer to get something he can keep?

Eek that's a hard one. I always just ask DH and he tells me what he wants lol.
Is he into coffee at all? Coffee machine/grinder?
Just trying to think of what my DH likes. Oh I got him a mousepad printed with a photo on it once (it was his fave car... can you tell it was pre Harry?!). Or some cool art? Or dvds? Although that's not really too special. Hmmm...

My DH turns 40 in January 09 .. 6 weeks after the edd of our baby. I was going to shout him and some friends a day fishing excursion - but decided with prices at that time of year it was much cheaper to hire a cafe and organise dinner&music with our closest friends. will be close to home so I can disappear early with baby. But I'm sure he will enjoy it.
