...my housekeeper. She's going to be leaving us as of next week, after having worked here once a week since March. She's actually off to get some surgery done and then 8+ weeks recovery and she doesn't know what she wants to do after then. It will be abdo surgery and a tummy tuck.

I don't want to spend too much, we're in a change of jobs after all (and I do pay her for her time), but just something as a thank you. So, here's what I know about her:
She's early 50's and about to become a grandma for the first time, x2 (twins due in March)
She'll be getting a tummy tuck so maybe a voucher for clothes?
Maybe something nice for surgery recovery, all I could think of was a book but I don't know what she likes to read. I also don't know when the surgery is booked for (last week she didn't have a date yet) so I don't want to get a magazine cause it might 'expire'.
They are mortgage free, don't really 'need' anything in a financial sense
They are about to do up their bathroom (plans etc already done). Her DH is a painter/decorator or something.

Any ideas?

A book voucher would go down well if she likes books. Or a photo frame that has space for 2 pics in it so she can have the twins in one frame.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I like this idea. Something small but thoughtful.

How about some bio oil, I have some for my c/s scar. I put a few drops in the bath and it is wonderful, is only about $15 and will help with healing from the surgery, oh or arnica

Maybe a book/book voucher to help time go by while she's in recovery for 8 weeks.

I liked the clothing voucher idea - like a Farmers voucher or something?

I scored myself a cool double frame today, I thought that was a really cool idea. I might get a Farmer's voucher as well, if we get into town again, but otherwise this will do Thanks everyone!
