Topic: Tommee Tippee Flip-it straw cups.. again Posted: 21 July 2008 at 11:02am |
So did anyone notice one of the ads in the latest OhBaby! magazine which shows the "new" range of Tommee Tipee products including yet another change to the flip-it straw cups.. These are the same cups a whole bunch of us had issues with recently, where we had to contact Tommee Tippee to get replacement lids to enable us to use the latest style of straw.
Anyway, the new ones look different again in terms of the bottle itself, and the straw is apparently thinner.
My mum had already noticed that it has been really really hard to buy replacement straws recently, but just in the weekend she went to the Warehouse and they were selling the replacement straws at a clearance price...which looks like maybe they're getting rid of "old" stock now before the new ones are released?
So yep...I guess unless you manage to stock up on replacment straws before they're all gone, you'll be having to buy yet another bottle if your toddler still uses them.

Grr! I might go buy some straws today then. We have a couple of those straw bottles and Daniel loves them so I don't want to have to go and buy new ones.
Them releasing new bottles and getting rid of old stock is probably just a ploy to make us buy new stuff from them

are these the ones with the flip lid and the one way valve straw?? Ive never had problems replacing the straw. Our supermarket sells them and ive stocked up on a few but DS is also preferring the drink/pump bottle just like us grown ups lol

I saw that in the ma but I assumed the 'new' straws were the ones that are out already, and that they are just replacing the non-insulated bottles to make them compatible with the same straws as the insulated ones.
But then I was reading it at Birthcare when Chiara was about 3 days old so don't trust my sleep-deprived interpretation...

I didn't even now that you could get replacement straws do you know if they sell replacements for their sippy cups as well that what James still has his milk in and am sick of buying him a new one every time he outs a whole in which granted takes some time but would be a little easier.

Gah, I just got the 'old style' bottle from the supermarket a few weeks ago...
Guess I should have read the mag before I purchased

I just double checked my magazine again (the ad is along the bottom of page 44 & 45 of the ohbaby mag), and yes it's definitely a totally new bottle and straw, so definitely worth stocking up on replacement straws for the current bottle if you don't want to have to buy the new one cause no doubt the new straws won't fit the old bottle and vice versa..
Alyssa mostly drinks from a normal cup now and I only take the bottle when we go out so it's not as big a pain for us as the last change... Seems a bit excessive having 2 fairly big changes to their product within 6 months or so though..

Gah! What a PITA!
Gotta say, I heard nothing from my 1st e-mail to them after buying replacement straws I couldn't use, but double-checked the site and I'd e-mailed their Aussie address, where they were rude enough not to simply pass it on to NZ. I e-mailed the NZ address and they were really good about fixing the problem.

I brought replacement straws a while ago but when I went to put them in I found that they were a different style to the bottle I have.
So if I email TT will they do something about this?
Why do they have to change the blimmin things all the blimmin time?

If you go to their website, you'll find a link for contacting them, be sure to use the NZ one, and they might sort you out. I e-mailed them about my 2 bottles that the new straws I'd just purchased wouldn't fit in, and they sent me a courier bag to return the bottles, which they replaced with the new style (which is now the next old style - crikey!).
