.....there is a least one good person out there
I couldn't find my wallet yesterday, we went to the botanic gardens, planning a walk, play on the swings and a coffee in the cafe. Before we left the house I grabbed my wallet as I had a coffee card for the cafe (another of my many mummy haunts). I put Fay in the car and off we went. When we got there I couldn't find my wallet, maybe I had left it in the garage or something, but couldn't find it last night and I have just gone through the whole house looking for it (needed a spring clean anyway), without any luck. Having made a list of what was in it besides coffee discount cards, I rang the Wellington police on the off chance that someone had handed it in. Would you believe it they had, and it still had the $90 dollars in it, along with all my credit and eftpos cards etc, they better not have taken my Wild Bean Cafe card tho, I was due a free one on that.
So to my personal angel, thank you very much, you have restored my faith in human nature
Oh I guess I probably put the wallet on the roof while I strapped Fay in and didn't pick it up again. I was more gutted as it was a new wallet I got for my birthday less than a week ago

That is so cool Claire. I had that happen with my phone a few months ago. Some nice person handed it back to the P'n'S people.

thats really cool :-)
readers digest did a test a while ago to see which was the most honest country , they "Left" cell phones behind, and then watching from a distance would ring the phone to see who answered and told them they had the phone and would return it....or who switched the phone off and pocketed it. I cant remember the most dishonest country , or the most honest (i know NZ wasnt either) but unfortunatley the majority kept the phones, so its nice to see there are still decent people out there

went we went to the uk we were on the metro and a whole bunch of kids hopped off on our stop. we sat down and noticd there was a pretty flash mobile sitting on the seat. So we took it to my aunty's and got her to ring the number with 'mum' next to it. (we got her to ring aas they may not of understood our accent over the phone) the people came round to pick the phone up and brought us some chocolates and thank you card. ( not that we expected that) My aunty told them that we were from nZ and that they were lucky as someone for the Uk may not of been that honest.
I felt pretty good about what we had done as the teenager whose phone it was so pleased to get it back - that was reward enough for me.. makes you feel good aye..
Claire glad you got everything back - there are some good honest people out there still

I love hearing stories like that.
My friend has just arrived back in NZ after working in Wales for a couple of years. She arrived in Auck just before xmas. When out to a few bars with friends and lost her wallet with over $1000 in it (stupid I know). Well her mum gets a call the on the Monday morning saying that a wallet had been handed it to Police with a substancial amount of money with this phone number and Mum written on a piece of paper.

Yay thats great I lost my wallet a couple of months ago and someone handed it into the police station and was very grateful wasn't worried about the money as it only had $20 in it just didn't want to pay for a new license.
