Topic: I am *not* convinced...grumble to come! Posted: 02 June 2008 at 12:29pm |
I am so not convinced by these internet HPT's. I have taken 2 this morning, the first a v definate BFN. The second- which was at least 3rd MU *and* after BD (which gave me spotting- sorry tmi)...there seems to be the faintest of faint lines on it! WTF?!
I know there's nothing I can do except wait it out and see if AF turns up today or tomorrow, it's so frustrating though! I *feel* pg. I still have lots of symptoms, incl my regular PSN, veiny bbs (sorry tmi again), absolute fatigue (which I've had for about 10 days), moodiness, and now an achy feeling that comes and goes in my lower abs. They don't feel like AF cramps but I know they may still well be.
And now a second test at 12DPO that makes me change my mind every time I look at it! Some lights, it looks like a very faint line, other lights, nothing.
So grrr grrr grr. I just needed a whinge. Not trying to bring anyone down with me...it is all just so annoying lol. Thanks for listening!

If it's the faintest of faint lines and it's a greyish colour it's more than likely an evaporation line. I had that too with some tests. If it's coloured the same colour as the control line but just faint then it could be the real thing.

I've heard of women saying that FMU doesn't work for them....that 2nd and 3rd brings up the positives! So maybe your are pregnant! I hope you are! Good luck :)

Emmecat, you need to go and do something to keep you busy all day today and stop testing!! You need to save some for in a couple of days time when you're likely to get a darker line.

Chicken, try and hold out another day or 2 if you go back to my posts when I was testing for my last cycle you will see you and I had this conversation the other way around.
I had the same thing with my cheapies, I was convinced (for the sake of my sanity) that they were evap lines. To this day DH can not see that line and he know we were pregnant.
What till wednesday and if no AF get yourself a first discovery of something.
Fingers crossed this is your BFP hun.

Chelle- you are right about not testing! the problem is I have heaps of those internet cheapies so it's very tempting But obviously I'm not gonna test again till tomorrow morning at the earliest if AF hasn't shown up.
Melnel- I'm good at giving advice and crap at not remembering to take it myself You also are right and I should just know in a couple of days.
I'm just feeling cross at myself (not quite sure why really)....and also cross in general that I've been feeling pretty positive about this cycle and now I don't know where I'm at. Which is kind of childish cos pretty much everyone on these boards goes through this sort of thing.
BTW- there's been no more spotting or anything since the incident this morning after BD. So goodness knows what happened there.

I think the others have said it well, give yourself a couple of days and then test again. You're only 12dpo. It really is far too tempting having preggy tests in the house isn't it??!!!
Fingers crossed for a BFP. Now go find something to do for 2 days!

Well tested again this morning- BFN with the faintest of what I think is an evaporation line. I am assuming I am 13DPO but given that I didn't temp this month, I guess it's within the realms of possibility that I am 12 or even 11DPO...but not according to the OPK's I used!
I woke up at some insane hour of the morning today absolutely convinced 100% that I was pg. No doubt. My boobs are so sore and I just *feel* pg. But come morning, that feeling had gone and I am back to thinking this is not my month.
I know there's no use harping on about it. Either AF will come or she won't. I do have a dragging kind of feeling in my lower abs that comes and goes...but it's not constant. And my bbs are sore like they never are before AF....and in theory I am one day late (12 day LP). SO why all the BFN's?!
Has anyone tested late (ie past 14DPO) and got a BFP? Esp after BFN?

I reckon put yourself out of your misery and go get a blood test. If you are late because of being preggy it will show up.
The worst thing is when you feel really tired and sick and get excited because it might mean you're pregnant and then AF comes and you realise you were just feeling tired and sick. Sigh....

i'd put yourself out of your misery and get a blood test tomorrow....unless you have more POAS tests, in which case i'd do another one tomorrow with FMU
good luck hun!

Thanks for your feedback ladies. I do have loads of HPTs here which is part of the problem I think lol. I've done another just now as absolutely no sign of AF and my boobs are getting really sore. I *thought* I saw a v v v v faint line again and so did DP but it isn't there now. Maybe we are both going a little crazy. He hasn't looked at any of the others I've taken and just says 'ah relax, you're probably pg'. Bless him, I want to KNOW I am pg (or not).
Ah well will try again tomorrow with FMU again. Am seeing a nurse on Thursday anyway so might get bloods done then if no sign of AF.

I gotta say, testing 14dpo isn't late at all, for most pregnancy tests it's bang on the minimum you can get a positive result.
As hard as it is, try to give it a couple more days.
Good luck!

One of my friends didn't get a + till 3 days after AF was due. So still plenty of time. Maybe it implanted a little later, which is when I think that hormone starts getting produced.
I'm sure the faint line is a line!!

Thanks guys, it's been a frustrating few days but hey maybe FF and I have my ov dates wrong or maybe I'm just not pg...who knows? All I know is there's still no sign or AF imminent arrival and if I was judging pg symptoms by bbs alone, I would say I am *definately* pg. But like I've said before, that could be the result of my m/c in March.
Anyway will test again tomorrow; threw out all the tests so far- it was doing my head in squinting to see if there was a line or not. I don't reckon I could see one after all that. Or maybe. Argh who knows lol

How you doing today hun? I'm climbing the walls. This has been a rather roller coaster month for us, a serious Am-I-Aren't-I cycle. *fingers crossed*
