Topic: The right undies? Posted: 30 May 2008 at 7:57am |
Does anyone else self-consciously go through the mental undies checklist before an abdo scan? I was thinking on this last night as I went to bed. No, those undies are too granny. Hmm, those ones are okay. Er, not those ones - too sexy. Don't want to give the wrong impression.... etc etc
Or am I just weird?
Ugh I've just downed 1 1/2 Litres of water in 10 minutes and now have to hold it for 1 1/2 hours. I actually feel slightly nauseous from all the water and had to have a break from breakfast, do the eating a bit later!!

lol no - you're not weird I definately do the scan before anything like that!
in fact i had a massage the other day and was torn between wearing nicer undies for the massage therapist, or the ones that gave me the least vpl under the skirt i was wearing!!

Yes:)
Always made sure I had my "good" panties on even though my gynae was only looking at my tummy. I have, day to day panties, work panties, at home lounging on the couch panties, nooky night panties and gynae panties! LOL... a girl always has to be prepared!!!
LOL, at one of my scans I was not wearing "gynae" panties and my gynae actually lifted down my trousers so he could read the naughty slogan on my undies and he just laughed. I was sooooo embarrased!!!

I tell myself, so long as they fit and are clean they probably don't care - let alone notice!

*Blissful sigh* to actually be able to keep my undies on at a scan would be heaven!

LOLOL! I always just go for nice but boring ones. I don't really want them to be noticeable IYGWIM.
Little OT, but when I had my appendix out I was SO disturbed when I woke up and realised I had no knickers on. I *knew* I had them on when I went in! I was really gutted when I remembered they were one of my nicest pairs too.
I was too embarrassed to ask for them back

I put the most comfortable ones on, just make sure that they aren't holey or anything. Oh and I also make sure that there are no bits spurting out the top

I'm the same, they have to be decent ones, no granny ones here for me when having a checkup or whatever!! Although, I'm also a person who dresses up to feel good on the day I have whatever it is, to make me feel good for the day instead of dreading what's going to happen (as today, wearing jeans that make me feel attractive instead of my usual ones as I have to have a procedure this afternoon).

I still have lots of granny undies as 'spares' and too often I open the drawer and there's no others left!
Ginger - LOL I didn't manage to keep mine on today either - I had abdo and trans-vaginal scans. I'm glad though, the ovaries show up so much better from the inside! and it wasn't as bad as I had thought (think: better than a smear)
All they found today was perfectly good everything, including ovulation cyst ready to go, and a retroverted uterus which was upright until I emptied my bladder. In other words, had it not been for the internal scan, I would never have had that confirmed!
