After having massing 'allergy' reaction (they never did find out what it was, I put it down to huge hormonal shifts with pregnancy) I would say to you keep on hassling to get specialist treatment. Hassle them to get in asap. Most GP's are only good for bandaids when it comes to dermitology.

I ended up in hospital with mine. They bathed me in Condy's Crystals (potassium permanganate) followed by applying cortisone ointments (ointments because the compounds in white creams can cause skin reactions), and then wrapping me in hot sheets and plastic (I looked like an egypitian mummy!). This shut the reaction down within 4 days.

What ever I did at home seem to make it worse. I had every antihistamine, prednizone, cream, lotion you could imagine. They told me that my skin was so hypersensitive that I was reacting to sunlight!!

Cut out all soaps, washing powders, 'hot' foods ...

Make sure you keep moisurised ... a tub of Skin Clinic Duoleum Ointment is a must ... fantastic stuff!!

Drink plenty of water!!

And keep on to the doctors ... try and pinpoint what you were doing, eating, using when it started and try and keep out of the sun.

I feel for you ... its aweful aye
Bummer about the comp too ... next year???
