Topic: Clingy Baby Posted: 06 September 2006 at 12:43pm |
I dont know what to do we are having one of those days where shes super clingy and wont sleep or stop crying unless i pick her up, i cant wear a front pack for ages coz my back is screwed again, if i put her in her bouncer she cries, if i put her in her bassinett next to me she screams and so it goes on!!!
I barely have time to eat or do anything...

she may be having a growth spurt or be feeling unwell. sometimes all they want is mum. a pain i know but she'll get over it.

Could well be a growth spurt, babies often have them around Ella's age. G's mum is right tho, all you ca really do is lug her around and give her a couple of extra feeds. Growth spurts don't usually last too long before they settle into a new feeding routine.

Lycan was like that after he had his injections. It took me a couple of days to get him back to settling down by himself. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the injections or if he was having a growth spurt.

Tell me about it, Paris has gone up so many shoe sizes this year already - her new ones we had to get her the other day were size 8.. at the start of this year she was lucky if she was a size 5!
Ayja is having days like all your bubs too.. last night, she had woken from her afternoon sleep at 2.30.. we tried to put her down at 7pm.. nup, we were still dealing with her at 9pm. I was so angry.
Today.. i am having a battle rightnow.. she is dog tired.. but is currently standing in her cot screaming at me.. she has been since i tried to get the girls to bed at about 1.30.. i have been in 2 times to resettle her etc..she is just being a grotter today. by the time i get her to sleep.. Paris will wake up and I'll get no kid-free time. My only day off this week and i think i will give the girls a half day so that i can spend time with them.. sometimes i really wonder why when Ayja is being like this!

Ella is in size 6/7.. talk about long feet.. when she was little I thought her feet were way smaller than other kids but then around 18 months she went through 2 shoe sizes in a few weeks!!

Hey Janine, sounds like Ayja has the same temperment as Ella! They would probably get on really well! (or clash lol) If anyone wants to talk about kids not sleeping, I'm the one to talk to - we are finally getting a break at night now she's sleeping amazingly.. but it took until all of her teeth came through to get there.
Hey Jess, maybe she's teething?
