Topic: My AF Posted: 15 May 2007 at 1:22pm |
Ok Ethan is 8 months old and I stopped breastfeeding him when he was 5 months.
I don't want to be pregnant again yet and have just done 2 tests (same packet) with No Result. I am going to the doctors tomorrow so will do another one there but if I am not Pregnant then where is my AF. I don't particulary want it back but the monthly reassurance that I am not pregnant would be great.
My question is: Where is my AF????? and When did yours come back.

Sometimes it does take a while but I think it is a good plan to go visit your doc.
I was still breastfeeding up until Han was 13.5 months but as soon as I stopped feeding it came back.

Well, I'm still BFing so not quite the same (though I thought it usually came back before you stopped if you BF for a long time?), but mine arrived 7 months after the baby did. And yes, I was a bit paranoid about being pregnant again!! In a way, AF really was a happy mother's day prezzie!

I wouldn't bother going to the Doctor. It returns when it's ready, I've heard of heaps of mums who didn't get it back until 14mos regardless of BF or not. I usually get mine back about 3mos with exclusive BF, this time I haven't and have also done the pg tests even though I have no symptoms It just feels a bit odd, doesn't it.

Kiya: stopped bf at 6mths, got my period back when she was 15mths.
Josiah: stopped bf at 8mths, got my period back when he was 2mths.
Xavier: still bf at 6mths, no sign of my period yet!
It all depends! If you are having no other preggy sypmtoms and are using birth control of some sort then relax and enjoy the break. I know, easier said than done!

Ok, I had to go to the doctor yesterday anyway. But talked to them and they said to just wait and see.
