I use to do the same Deez, the walk did me as much good as it did her. I was much calmer by the time we got home, even if it was just a 10 minute walk, and felt heaps more able to deal with the crying if it continued.
I hope Maddie is much more settled for you today Paws, and you can both catch up on some rest!

I don't have anything to add, everyone else has said it all, but I hope day 3 is going better and Miss Maddie is behaving. If it's any consolation she'll never remember that you yelled at her. I yell at Maya all the time and she WILL remember
