SIL just came round with baby niece, which is GREAT! I love seeing them both. However, SIL said we should go down to my work (2 mins away) and show baby to all my friends, being that I've mentioned telling work all about baby before. Niggling feeling that it was not quite right (being my niece, not actually my daughter), but she seemed keen, so what the heck. Drove down the road, went in to see everyone, baby is crying cos it's all so busy and new (and probably hungry too) and I feel like an idiot. SIL seemed ok, cos "I know how you've told everyone about her and thought they'd want to see her", but still.

I go to work in an hour, and I feel just so weird, like it was not really a good thing to do. I'm probably just feeling like that, but I had to vent. Sorry if I offend anyone

i can understand how you feel. i would feel the same!

This is not really the same thing but last week my aunt came into work with 2 overseas relatives to meet me. i was so embarrassed as they were making so much noise, and they talked to me like they had known me all their life! I couldnt help but think it was really really weird that they even turned up!
They were obviously important to my aunty, and perhaps my aunt thought for some reason i was dying to meet them?!

What an awkard situation for you to be in. How did work go after you went back in to work??

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Lol I meant to update! Work was fine, they all seemed happy to have seen the baby. Just me going crazy and working myself up I guess. SO, won't do it again any time soon (until maybe she's bigger - ie toddling), but at least I was the only one that seemed to feel weird.

Got lots of comments about how cute she was!

I can understand how you felt, it does sound awkward. Glad everything was ok at work.
