I went when DD was about a year old and I think that was too early (for her anyway), she was more interested in crawling around and attacking the stereo (and other children) than enjoying the music ... I decided that we had more fun at home dancing around to music and we might try again once she's older (like kindy age).

Having said that, if you want an excuse to get out of the house and meet other mums then probably any age is good .

I took Madd to a similiar type group just last week (at 19 months). I really didnt think she would be that into it but much to my surprise she had a ball, she seemed to know all the actions too Most likely going back again tomorrow.

Keira has always been a big fan of dancing to the music and following actions so I guess Maddi had been watching her big sis and thought she was pretty cool. Keira probably enjoyed the Mainly music type group around 2 and 3, I think now she thinks she is too old and want to start 'real' dancing.

I started a few months ago and Jackson still just runs around the room waiting for the food to come out He's 18 months.
He does do a bit of dancing every so often, and likes the maraccas if they come out but generally he just likes the playtime afterwards and the morning tea.

eden is 20 months now and she enjoys it... she gets up the front and attempts some of the moves, she loves the bean bags and the lycra song. we have been going on and off since she was a baby tho. in the begining it can be more about just getting them used to the music and the social aspect of it... eventually they start to get more into it. Its been great for me too to interact with other parents. and watching eden get more confident and see how much more she knows every week is really cool.

I went for the first time with Ty today , the one I go to has a seperate baby class first, so they aren't with the older kids .
C went til she started school or kindy or whatever , and she loved it .
The baby session they do "gentler " less actiony more quiet songs .
The main reason I go now , is so im used to going by the time he is actually getting something out of it .
And for a bit of adult company

I have been going since Tom was little. I go mainly for my sanity to get out of the house and talk to other mums. Tom has only just started to show that he really likes it (he can sing the songs and do the actions). James LOVES it already and claps his hands and jiggles to the music.

I dont think they can be "too young" if you enjoy going.

we started going to mini groovers when Lil was about 6 mths and shes always loved it. she'd clap her hands and after the first few weeks would recognise the songs. For those first few months she couldn't really move anywhere (although she quite liked rolling around under the parachute!). We haven't been for ages because its our swimming day but are about to start mainly music next week on a diff day. I'm sure she will love it cause she dances around to music at home. I've always made time in the afternoons to listen to music with her. In her first weeks it was to soothe her (Mamma Mia soundtrack!) and nowadays we listen to solid gold fm - it has good beats!

we tried it with Ethan for a month when he was about 17-18 months..he kept trying to get into the cupboards they didnt have shut properly and he LOVES dancing and moving but it just wasnt for him..it was badly orgainsed though and on the same time (had to wait in the same room as) the health clinic with heaps of sick people and same with the morning tea and i didnt like that.. so we never went back and he just does dancing and music at home and at school

I started taking Caden to tots and tunes a few months ago, and to start with he just wanted to get into everything around the room and other peoples bags and stuff, but now he knows the songs and he stays in the middle of the room and dances and claps and plays wit the instruments they give out for each song
He loves it!
