To perk yourself up when having low day?
I have had a bit of PND lately, and was thinking it would be good to get tip's from other's of positive thing's to do to help lift their mood. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with Med's and councelling etc however at this stage I would rather go down that track at the momnet.
So any tip's you have please let me know.

Chocolate Honest ! The antioxidants and other things in dark chocolate in particular are good for the nervous system, and can help you to relax.

I myself have gone down "that road" and am receiving both meds and counselling for my anxiety disorder, but other things I do besides chocolate is to go out for a walk up to the local cafe for a sweet treat and drink, or pull out my favorite DVD that I know will make me laugh. If I'm really desperate, shopping has also been known to help LOL Mind you, I make sure I have a spending limit first !

Good luck with everything Deb, and let us know how you get on.

I don't have kids yet and this will make a diff I'm sure but here are my fav ways to relax/smile when I'm feeling low

- run a bubble bath (has to have bubbles) and relax with some soothing music on
- dance around the house to some 'happy' music (anything that you love and that's upbeat)
- have a hot choc and relax reading a magazine/book
- cuddle up with our two cats and watch Friends (DVD) (any show that you like will work)
- relax out in the garden listening to birds with a nice cold drink (diet coke or something stronger )
- chat to a friend or go out for a coffee and have a good moan

Hope some of this will work for you. Hugs

I have been feeling really..well trapped since becoming a SAHM and have found relief in:
a - taking a morning/afternoon or whatever off. I went into town today, bvy myself, bought a magazine, sat and had a coffee - BY MYSELF. was wonderful, but next week (have talked to husband abuot this needing to be weekly), will not feel guilty and buy presents for children.
b - playcentre. the mums have been wonderful just to chat to while Jake runs around like crazy in a safe environment, and Taine blissfullly eats bark.
c - have taken up painting - just cartoons for the kids walls, but am doing the background first and it's very therapeutic - back and forth, back and forth painting.
d - allowing yourself a time where you can sit and relax. it is all too easy to sit down and get the guilts about what you "should" be doing. you need to think - okay from 1to 1:30pm, I'll sit and relax and won't do anything at all.

Sit down when the kids are in bed with a cup of whatever brew i want and a couple of choccie biccies. Have some time to myself either watching tv or reading a book.

And once a month i treat myself to an eyebrow shape and and haircut, just to make me feel human.
