Lucas has fallen nose first and now its all purple and bruised, looks very sore! But no blood!

My question is from what age can a child break their nose? I'm sure I read somewhere that the bone ea3in their nose isn't properly formed until a certain age! (Lucas is 1 year old?)

Can anyone put my mind at rest?

No, they can not. Not until 4 or 5 years of age. You can relax.

Yep they can't break them. Josh fell down the steps at my place (concrete ones) and his nose was all bruised and it couldn't be broken as its not strong enough in there to be broken.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Is their nose mostly just cartilage at this age? It's pretty swollen and sore looking, I'm feeling all down on myself about it ....my poor baby

Yeah it is. Josh's was so swollen for a few days but now you look at it and you can't even tell anything happened to it.

Josh fractured his nose when he was 3 and he hit it really hard (long story but Aukland airport had some answering to do) he still has the mark from it but didn't break, they said if he had been a year or so old her would of done alot of damage - as it is its not crocked but inside one side is 'smaller' entrance than the other. He ended up with 2 black eyes and a head that looked like that guy off Beauty and the beast (leo??) - the program from 80's or 90's.

It's scary though huh. I asked this exact question on her a couple of months ago when Elle fell and had a black nose. Hugs.

Aww so upsetting when the lil sprogs hurt themselves and you can't do much but offer lots of cuddles and kisses!
