Ok so, as some of you have seen by now, I just got a package from my MIL who lives in the States, and was absolutely spoiled ! What it made me realise is my poor DH is probably feeling a bit neglected, but even if he isn't, I'd like to do something nice for him... just have NO idea where to start ! He is into computers, and photography, is pretty laid back... not into jewelry really, all he wears is his wedding band plus another ring I got him ages ago... ummm... what else ? Didn't use the smellies I bought him as a treat last time *sigh* So far all I've come up with is either a photography book, or might pop into Hallensteins or somewhere and see what shirts they've got...

Your lovely to think of your man Jax! Your right they do get neglected at times. Some B&W film or even some slide film so he can process it C41 (if he wants to get arty farty), Some nice frames, an album, lens cleaning stuff.

What about a massage and a trip to one of those fancy barbers where they spoil them? DH went to this one in Hamilton the morning of our wedding and they did a proper hot shave and cut and styled his hair- they get to sit there and drink fancy beers and watch sport on TV. Kind of a Boy pamper day.

ohh jenz I love the hot shave etc idea for a man, my hubbie would love that.

He used to always go into the city when we lived in Sydney to get his head shaved cause they put hot towels on his head afterwards.

Does anyone know of somewhere in Wellington that does the real cut throat razor shave etc?

That is so nice of you Jax to think of your hubbie, it is easy for pregnancy to be a bit "it's all about me and the baby". Especially post birth when you and bubs get all the attention and pressies - which is all good seeing we have done the hard yards!! But they do play a huge roll even though it's not physical.

I'll think about the game thing, there is a particular sort that he always likes. Rang Body Shots to enquire about photos, as I know they do good work, but their packages cost a reasonable amount of $$ so might hold off on that one. Still keen on maybe finding him some nice photo frames to put some of his other shots in - some of the pics he's taken are fantastic, even more so after he's tinkered with them a bit on the computer, he really has a talent for it.

In the meantime however, because I'm still feeling a bit sore (dammit !), I've started on a baking spree as I know he has a soft spot for my muffins Am also making some chocolate chip cookies as well, mmm... *drool* So that should keep him quite happy for a while, or at least the weekend LOL

Might still look into a nice shave / haircut voucher thing as well, trouble is trying to sneak the $$ for it past him

Could also be a dork and pick him some flowers from the garden or something, OH ! I know ! I'll buy him some beer, muahahhaha... he hasn't had any in AGES coz he's been cutting it out / down to try and help us save $$

*claps hands* yay ! Feeling better about this now, thanks ladies !

Last year for DH I found a photo of us and printed it out onto eftpos card size on the printer, then wrote a note on another piece (on the computer, of course - so I could make it tiny writing with a long message) about how he's been fantastic blah blah. Stuck the message on the back of the photo, laminated it (?) and popped it in his wallet.

Made him cry!
