I've been breastfeeding Elle for 10.5 months now and we're down to 3 feeds per day but I am still starving all the time! Am I just used to eating more (and hence being piggy) or could 3 breastfeeds still cause an insatiable hunger? It's driving me nuts as I want to eat alllllllllllllllll the time. I eat a very good balanced diet + take a breastfeeding multivit so don't think lack of nutrition is a prob.

Well I'm bfing too and am pretty sure I'm still hungry and thirsty all the time due to my body having to produce the milk, even though it's much less than early on. My difference is that I perhaps snack on things that aren't really beneficial to milk production so my weight has started to go up again after months of not worrying too much

Kryssi has recently dropped to about 5-6 feeds and I have noticed a big drop in my need to eat... but I still enjoy 5 meals a day, just each meal is getting a bit smaller. Also are you keeping your water drinking up?

Yeap - I drink lots of water, probably about 1.5ltrs per day of straight water in winter, more in summer + I drink herbal tea (and some coffee but that is dehydrating so doesn't really count). Just snacking on roast kumara at the mo as I've heard it helps balance blood sugar.
