Topic: when good weddings go bad - long Posted: 01 April 2007 at 10:17am |
Ok so Gabriella made it to her first wedding yest...BUT it was not without event...
Skies stayed clear, the bride wore champagne coloured lovely dress, came fashionably (slightly) late, the guests gathered for an outdoor wedding in the gardens of the venue (mentioned what it was in antoher thread!)...and THEN...as the bride stepped up to start the ceremony ....a lawnmower commenced over the fence loudly interupting it all...they continued while several men went to ask the said mowerman to stop - hey theres a wedding going on....
Well it did not stop...minutes later we hear THUD THUD, dog barking, some yelling and then it all stopped totally more mins later just as the ceremony finished...
OK so what happened...well we found out later in evening that the neighbour mowing the lawns was spending a ntie behind bars, arrested for ASSAULT when he whacked the venue owner over the back and legs and the police were called. Apparently the groom from his elevated position could see the lovely blue and red lights in the middle of the ceremony...
a long running feud from a horrid neighbour of said venue interupted one brides amazing day! can you say Ar#@hole?
so that done u think it would be fine and the night rolled on....they set up a change table and a chair in disable toilets for me which was lovely as miss decided to wake and need to feed the minute we sat down.
Then dessert etc...and I decided to hand her to Gma and go to bathroom myself. I walk back in to see everyone looking in one direction and DH attending to bride who was holding her head...ummmmm???
Well turns out the venue wife slipped while carrying a chair, slid and the chair hit bride in head, hit DH on back, and lucky i wasnt there or miss and i would have copped the brunt of it....Well venue wife was tended to by DH who thinks she has a couple of broken toes, Bride has egg under her hair from the whack, venue wife felt soooo bad!!!! DH tended to them both in disabled toilets....poor BRIDE!!!!!
Well by this time i decided we needed to go so left the poor venue owners to deal with police, a possible a and e visit for the wife and the poor bride nursing a very sore head and one new groom wondering if he was gonna get any at all....unlikely now!!!
Lets say the venue is lovely, food divine!!! the staff and the owners are lovely people and did not deserve the horrid neighbour next door...told the owner to go whole hog and press for assault charges to go ahead...apparently not first time and if not stopped now it wont be the last and other weddings will be ruined!!!
Gabriella slept through most of this of course!!!

Sounds like it was a very interesting event, I feel really bad that the neighbour ruined it though. Feel very sorry for ther poor bride, and any others he had done it too and then to accidentily get hit in the head. At least there will be interesting stories for them to tell their kids.

Aw, poor bride and groom! And poor venue people too! Hope they are all ok today - and that they press charges. What a rotter reacting like that.

LOL when I read the title of your post I thought "oh no, what did lil Miss do?" but it wasn't her at all!
Poor bride and groom! Sounds like the whole day was a comedy of errors. Pity you can't pick your neighbors...

Gosh that's awful, I hope it's something they can laugh about in time. (I thought mine was bad - got period in the middle of the reception! Thank goodness for several layers on my dress - Maybe brides should get married in red just in case!)

What a wedding - hope the bride will be able to laugh about it one day!
PS - we got married there too a year ago and the venue is so gorgeous and the owners are soo nice, they def don't deserve their neighbour! Hope Sue recovers soon, I feel for her
