Topic: When to start using a bouncernet?? Posted: 05 April 2007 at 7:59am |
I have just bought a really neat bouncernet and play jym on trade me and then wondered if i would even use them when Astin is just a NB????
I dont remember when i first put Bay in his all i remember is that we ended up scrapping it because everytime we put him in it he would go to sleep!! so there was no point! ANYWAY!! when have all of you started using bouncernets and play jyms???

I think I used the bouncernet straight away, mainly because she was elevated a bit and Jasmine couldn't accidently step on her. She was about 1 month old before I used the play gym as Jasmine was a bit more aware of watching were she went. But Bailey is a bit older so you probably won't have that problem.

I used mine from birth Alan often slept in his. I have only just put it away for Mikey cause he is too tall to be in it still Alan was in it till he was 9 month's old. I liked it cause it ment they were on a good angle just after a feed rather then laying them down flat.

yup - we used both from birth. The bouncernet is great to take with you into the bathroom if they won't sleep long enough for you to have a shower! Ahhh I remember those days
And the gym will keep them occupied for 5 mins whilst you check Oh Baby

hehe good idea toni!
I feel like im kind of new to this because Bay really wasnt a normal child so i havnt experienced all the "needing to find ways to occupy while you do stuff" but im sure Astin will be a little more differcult as he seems to be easy to wake even now! lol
My other question is - are they interested in stuff like the jym so early on (NB)??

the play gym they can't see when new born but it maybe somewhere safe to lie them if they are awake. The bouncer I used mine from day dot, my #2 brooke would sleep in hers, Rhyley prefers to sleep in his cot now but when he was first brought home I used the bouncer so I still had my hands free. And like someone said if you want to get a quick showers the bouncer (also called a rocker) is a great place to put them in the bathroom with you - I still do this if had to.

Krystiana has been batting at toys on her playgym for the last couple of weeks, and definitely watching them for a few weeks before that. I've used it since she was old enough to actually wake up between feeds lol
The bouncinette I've used since birth, it's great for creating a sense of personal space for the older child/ren, also Briona used to sleep in it a lot because it was the best angle for her (reflux).

I started using it when Olivier was around 3 weeks old. I still use it when he is watching a DVD, sometimes if I need to have a shower and he is awake at the time - very handy for that!

We used both orf ours from really early on. Tyrell didn't love the play gym as much as he couldn't see as much of what was going on around him...nosey boy.
It was great for when I needed to have a shower when he was awake. Although now I don't get a shower in peace, as soon as it is turned on he is there ready and waiting to talk to mum.

I used my rocker from 2 weeks (cause I didn't have one until then). I still use mine everday now. Very good investment!

ive put Gabriella in the bouncer a few times already when she is awake or needing to go off...ours vibrates so sends her to sleep or she zones out in it...
ive been putting her under the gym the past two weeks...but last week was really first time she noticed the hanging things and grabbed the rustling ears of the heffalump beside her....she does seem to like it tho...I have to watch her in it cause we have cats who like to come over to her...
