Topic: *rant* Family Togetherness?? pfft WHATEVA Posted: 11 June 2008 at 9:47pm |
Sorry ladies, I just need to get this off my chest as it's burning me up a little..
As some of you may know Keziah and I are flying to Wellington this time next week, so I text my sister (this was at 9pm and I didn't think she'd still be awake so I did it as a courtesy to her) to ask her if she would be our taxi and transport us out there and back the following week as I need an extra set of hands at this end. She got all miffed because I forgot to say please in my text (only had 20c on my phone and I ran out of room - not that I forgot but I couldn't say everything I had to say), and also because I didn't call her and ask her verbally??
Now apparently she's busy and doesn't want to do me the favour leaving Keziah and I to walk to the airport BIARCH!!!! So much for family togetherness
*sigh* and shuttles are too freakin' expensive when your paying for 2 and they don't help you out at the other end... GAH rant rant rant

You don't pay for Keziah. They will help you if you ask them. When you get to the airport, ask them to get a trolley for you, are you still taking the car seat down?
I'm sure if you book a shuttle and tell the booking person that you are going to need help they will help. I've never been on a shuttle where they haven't helped you.

I have used SuperShuttles in AK and they were great. It was just me but I was pregnant it was $20 from the airport to Onehunga.
Ring them up and ask them what they can do for you.

my mum caught the shuttle here, it was expensive... like $35? but that was all the way out to petone. She took the flyer (bus right to the airport) back, but it doesn't run very often, and you dont' want to wait around that long with a bub.

The flyer bus is fine, you just need to find out the timetable.
How many things are you bringing with you? If you put bubs in a sling, that would make it easier to carry things.

Neeks I used to catch the shuttle a lot for work, and never had any problems. If you ring and book it and tell them you have a baby and will need some help, they will make sure that the driver knows. Its prob an easier option that getting into dramas with your sister!

I'm taking the carseat, small stroller, nappy bag, laptop and 2 bags with our clothes in it. Also I have a front pack that I will use at the airport so I can be hands free somewhat
The issue I have with my sister is that she told me soon after Keziah was born that if I EVER need anything to just give her a call and she'd be there for me no matter what.... First time I call her.. and she does this?? Jumps down my throat for not using my manners LOL WTF???

well looking at it from your sisters point of view maybe she is miffed that it has taken 7 mths for you to call on her and that maybe a text at 9pm was a bit rude...
but yeah a shuttle should help... whereabouts are you coming from to get to the airport and what time... maybe one of us could help you out for a bit cheaper than a shuttle?!

And what's your timetable in welly like? if I am not working and have time I could potentially drop you if you are staying in the city?
I have the sort of relationship where I'd text my sister at 9pm and tell her to pick me up and she'd do the same. Maybe call her now and talk it through?? (She may have some other reason to be angry and this is just a convenient excuse)
