I have been quite sick since last Thurs. Usually, I get a sore throat for a a few hours max and then am all sinus. This time around, it is 8 days on and my throat is still sooooooooo sore.

I''ve had minimal sleep and have been crazy busy so it's not surprising but I'm wondering if I should see a doc or if the current viruses are just like this?

DH has one of the virus's going round but it doesn't sound as bad as yours in the throat. Maybe you have an infection for it to be causing so much pain?

I just took Brooke to the doctors cause she has had a sore throat for a couple of days and looked at her throat and its got white dots on it - which been diagnosed as strep throat so shes on antibiotics for 10 days.
I wasn't going to get it checked out cause theres so much going round at the mo but glad i did.

Yeah I was going to say if it's still hanging around it could be Strep Throat and that can be VERY nasty.

I'd get to the doctors, especially with your big day on Saturday and your little visitors.

It's been around so long that you ought to get it checked, especially if you have green phlegm. You might have tonsilitis and/or sinus infection

You're probably okay then. I would get it checked just because of how long it has been buuuuut it does sound kinda normal and what is going on around here. Have you any boiled lollies to suck on? We have some honey lollies which are really nice for sore and scratchy throats.

I had a really bad sore throat a couple of years ago, where I would just about be in tears trying to swallow and it was diagnosed as strep throat.  Definitely worth gettin checked out, as once on ABs I got better pretty much straight away!
