QuoteReplyTopic: My blissful afternoon.... Posted: 19 December 2007 at 2:07pm
After 6 days working (with a couple of 11 hour shifts thrown into the mix with me doing over time) and a full on day yesterday, I've been looking forward to today.
Spent the morning catching up with a friend of mine and this afternoon indulged in the much sort after though often elusive "nap".
I was snoozing blissfully when..... *BANG BANG BANG* on the door. Ignored it. *BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG* on the door. Tried desparetly to keep ignoring it. After the 4th round of this very persistant person trying to beat my door in I finally dragged on some pants and answered it. Must be urgent if they are so persistant right? Maybe the neighbour is in trouble or something.....better check.
Blardy Kirby guy wasn't it? Second this week. Standing there with a "present" of laundry powder. Whatever, sleeping wins over you anjd your silly vacuum whatsit buddy. Send him on his merry way (hopefully he did also notice the WOODEN FLOORS in our house!!!!).
Go back to bed. Compose myself. Start to drift off again. *BANG BANG BANG BANGITY BANG* Are you freaking kidding me?
Drag my sorry butt to the door. Another Kirby guy?? Seriously? Not 10 mins after the first one?? Send him on his way also.
Aww G, that really does suck! I get really annoyed at door knockers during the day. We have very sneaky folk around our area that like to send in small children and slightly handicapped or Elderly people so that you can't tell them to P off! I had some knock on the door this morning, but luckily answered the door with a screaming baby so was able to get rid of them!
(Just wanted to add that I have nothing against any door knockers but DH and I don't appreciate having things shoved in our faces in our own home. Hope this post doesn't offend anyone)

See when they came around on Saturday (and by the way BEGGED to come in) Miss M was mid temper tantrum and they still weren't put off!!!
Really I have nothing against door knockers either but begging to come in and bashing on my door 4 times is a bit blardy much!! You'd think they would get the hint when no one answered after the second round of VERY loud knocking!
I just dont open the door - most of the time I am in the lounge and can see who is knocking, and if I dont know them (and normally you can tell the "salespeople") I just yell - "sorry feeding the baby - not interested thanks".
