My mum was going to bring a kitten down to me today from Auckland, but it jumped out of her hands when she was getting into the car (don't know why she didn't have her in a cage).

So if any of you lovely ladies live round Kowhai Rd, Whenuapai, Auckland can you please keep a look out for her.

She is 10wks old, fluffy, grey with white belly and feet . Apparently she is rather timid. She doesn't know the area and it is her first time away from her mum.

Mum is staying at home for another night and leaving early tomorrow to go down to Wellington and will be away for a week, so I have my fingers crossed that kitty turns up tonight.

Toni.... maybe your Mum can leave a blankie and a bowl of dry food (fishy flavour) in a dark box.... the kitten may smell the food and snuggle in the box because it is a food source.  The kitten could have run under the house... or even under the car near the wheel shaft or engine.... that is where the kittens i have now used to hide.

Otherwise if you phone SPCA they can leave a trap to catch it .... the traps are gentle ... i have four kittens that i caught with a trap that SPCA loaned me.  Hope she hears and finds it tonight.

Thanks Shezzy for those ideas. Just talked to mum and then found it but weren't able to catch it. When they left this morning it was hiding under the house. So I think I may go up there this afternoon and try and catch it myself, I hate the thought of it being alone in a strange place.

Kitten update:

She is safe and well at home now. Drove up to Auckland yesterday and got to know her and brought her home today. One of mums friends was able to catch her. Though he got a bitten finger for his troubles.
