hehe i like that idea kebebat! i think you need to sit down and work out between you what the expectations are. if you can't reduce work hours then clearly things are gonna be too much so hire a housewife hehe. often thought that it would be nice to live in the olden days where people had the hmmm what was the word, lady who would come in and do housework each day and then cook a meal as well. is it a housekeeper?? i dunno why we insist on doing so much ourselves these days, is our time not valuable to us??
And truly, if you were not there to support hubby would he be able to sustain his work lifestyle?? somehow i doubt it - men don't get that sometimes tho, they think they would cope but i bet half the time they would end up eating crap and die of heart attacks!

Oh believe me I would love to unplug the phone, but unfourtantely the ex gets one court-ordered phone call.

DP turns his phone off after that otherwise she'd call 7-8 times a day.

Just a q:  is the Court ordered phone call so that the ex can spend some time with the child on the phone, or is it so that she can dictate the care of the child from a distance, even though the child is in your custody at that time?

Maybe you need to invest in a crockpot and do a few bulk meals so you don't have to cook every night. A colleague of mine has a freezer full of frozen meals and just steams veges each night, which she says takes her seven minutes. Another thing I notice her doing (and I've started doing the same) is to keep a loaf of bread and some cans of tuna/salmon, fresh fruit, tomatoes etc at work so she can assemble her lunch and eat it straight away rather than cut lunches every day. In winter I do a Sunday roast then plate up complete meals (leftovers) for the following night so we can just heat and eat (3 minutes) on Monday when we are tired and hungry.

There are a lot of shortcuts you can take to save time. You can do your grocery shopping online which saves time (and money). I often do my grocery shopping in my lunch hour so I don't have to go out at night, just need to pop the cold food in the fridge at work. Have a fitted sheet on your bed and duvet inside a duvet cover so you only need to straighten the duvet and open the curtains/blinds each morning.
