Thanks for your help ladies! I am now enrolled in Accounting and Statistics for Business over summer school, to go towards the BBS...they allow a maximum of 2 papers for Summer School because of the time involved. Exciting!!

Yay Kate!

I did one semester of my undergrad thru Open Polytech - I took a semester off from my Unitec degree when Maya was born and studied extramurally instead, then cross-credited it back to my original degree and went back to Unitec for my last semester to finish up.

I did my postgrad thru Massey Extramural a few years later.

I found them much of a muchness to be honest. I never had any issues getting in touch with lecturers/support people at either institution. Open Polytech were awesome about letting me take 4-mth old Maya to a contact course coz she was still being fully breastfed. If I was going to study again (which will never, never happen!) I wouldn't hesitate to go back to either.

Good Luck Kate,

I've done both subject, hope you like maths. Stats I found hard after being away from school for so long.

I did my bachelor degree through The Open Polytechnic then my masters degree through Massey University and found them both much of a muchness. I liked being able to use the distance libary and always found it easy to get in touch with the lecturers to get help. One of the lecturers at TOP told me they worked with Massey Extramural to write courses so both taught the same thing anyway. I enjoyed the block courses at Massey but was pleased not to have to attend them at TOP because it would have been a struggle around work and parenting. You do have to be disciplined to do distance study though.
