Topic: anyone used ebay/amazon? Posted: 04 June 2008 at 10:59am |
my brother wants a very rare playstation game for his bday and the only one i can find is on TM for $90 second hand without a manual or cover, thats just for the disk!
so i googled it and found a few brand new ones in US and UK for around $30 NZD but i've never bought anything from over there before and am wondering if it's safe?
has anyone used ebay or amazon before?

I use amazon all the time, I buy gifts for people in the uk via it. Have bought stuff from the us and had it shipped before as well, never had any problems at all.

Yup, I've bought new stuff from Amazon and second hand stuff from other sellers via Amazon and never had a prob. It's fantastic for finding books that are out of print etc.

I forgot to add that the book I bought worked out to be miles cheaper even with postage costs. (Like half price almost... I think?)

I buy from Amazon all the time. It actually works out cheaper than buying from a shop here, even with postage, due to the great exchange rate. And the parcel usually arrives way quicker than they say it will.

Playstation games are a bit funny. DH has 2, the old style PS2 which he bought here and ALL playstation games and almost every DVD work in it.
I bought him slim PS2 in the UK and some other zone games work in it.
I used amazon and ebay in the UK all the time, even sold on Ebay. Just make sure you check out what other buyers have said and what their rating is like.

i've been lurking on both amazon and ebay.......and have found heaps of the game i want..but a question for amazon...
how do i get information on each 'auction' like a description of the goods??? i can't find anything to click that takes me to each individual description. do i just have to send an email to the seller? there's 24 games to ask about!

I have used Amazon for loads of books / dvds, and never had any problems at all. It is often a lot lot cheaper even with the exchange rate and the postage.
