So I need some help finding toys for Thomas for in the car on our trip to queenstown in a few weeks. We'll be driving there in one day from chch (about 5 or 6 hours) and he's gonna need some stimulation. Short of me going mental and killing everyone from listening to kids songs the whole way there, I know he's going to need something to do! I've looked on trademe and googled toys for in the car, but had no luck. Does anyone know where I can get crap that sticks on the windows etc? Thanks!!

Baby Factory do those things. They suction cup to the window and have things that hang off .. is that what you mean?

Otherwise could you get a travel arch and attach it to the sides of his carseat?

We have a little einstein thing with a mirror and it does colours and stuff (and a volume control) .. Issy can make it go by using her feet (she cant reach it with her hands) and I can see her in the mirror so thats handy too.

Otherwise we just have a bag with ratles and other random stuff attached on the door and she can help herself.
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year LFs weight blog

Put away his favourite rattles etc now, especially anything that can be tied to his car seat/seat belt/wrist with a ribbon (so it doesn't get lost on the floor). You probably won't need that many because with all the movement of the car he is likely to fall asleep. However you may need to schedule a couple more stops than usual for nappies, feeding and letting him lie flat/sit outside of the car so he doesn't get irritated with the car seat too much.

In the latest issue of OHbaby! Magazine we have an Our Favourite Things dedicated solely to cool baby/toddler travel accessories and toys. Check it out -- it's on paegs 72-73!  There are also a couple of relevant travel stories that might help you.

you can get linky doos from KMart and they can be hung from the hand grips above the seats - Rowan loved sucking on hers and swinging it and we added toys to it as well.

Oh I feel bad.. I dont buy the Oh Baby magazine :( I wont be able to have a look in there.. Husband says I go on the website so I dont need to buy the magazine!
I got this suction cup thing from farmers yesterday that was reduced to 10 bucks, so I guess we'll see how we go. I'll put some of his fav rattles away today and tie them to the carseat when we go I think. Wow I'm really dreading this trip!
