Topic: personal question Posted: 08 March 2006 at 1:00pm |
This is a bit of a personal question so I won't be offended if nobody answers it. Has anyone had haemorrhoids before? Just been to the doctor and I hav them, they say it is from pushing while giving birth, not that I had a natural birth so then they say they think it probably from when I had morphine and became blocked up. Was just wondering if anyone knew of anything natural remedy wise that can help the pain? I have ointment from doctor but want something for pain.

I think a few people have on here... being reasonably common during pregnancy. Unfortunately I have no idea about remedies. Would panadol help with the pain???

I can't remember how long they were there for, but geez did they hurt! Prob went away a couple of months after giving birth.

Oh you poor thing, sooooooooooo painful, I suffered badly after my daughter was born and again after Sam was born.
I took "Laevolac" which is a sugar syrup taken orally to loosen everything up. (gross I know!)It is available from the chemist and i think is around $12 - don't quote me. This REALLY helped me.

The other thing my midwife told me was "ice" and it really does help. Either ice wrapped in a face cloth or bend a teabag yes a teabag over your finger and then place in the freezer. Not very lady like but it does help numb them.

I'm with Vick on the teabag - and far more comfortable than an icecube!

Had to go back to doctor today and now also have a boil on the back of my thigh, a ingrown hair gone really wrong, jeez I can't even sit down properly. My silly body is playing up. My haemorrhoid is an external one so hanging down like sheep dags and when it goes I will be left with a skin tag, very glamorous i must say. So how would I keep a teabag in place? Might just have to use ice. But thatnks for the tips.

Oh man poor you.....I didnt get them but I had so many stitches down there from being cut to get Brooke out that it took so long to feel comfortable again.Had a look dwn there with mirror not long ago and man its all just scarred up....the lovely things that happen with child birth eh.....My sis has always suffered from them though and she uses anusol and never lets herself get constipated.....uses herbal laxatives if she feels things are getting a bit tuff(ha ha).Anyway I really hope it gets better quickly for you

I forgot to add wet the teabag first once you've bent it around your finger it shoud stay in shape while freezing.

A friend of mine had some nasty ones that she hadto have banded - I went with her to drive her home and she was in some serious pain! She also didn't push her bubs out, the doc said it was probably from straining during pregnancy.
