Topic: Leaking Posted: 02 March 2007 at 12:44pm |
Didn't know what else to call it, didn't want to put boobs in subject heading.
Anyway, Xanda weaned himself off b/f end of Oct last year so about 4 months ago, and everything went fine, I had no swelling or engorgement and breasts settled down nicely. In the past week tho I have had leaking boobs, and it is not just a little bit but a lot, and I can feel the let down off the milk. I have taken to wearing breastpads to bed again as this is mainly when it happens, early in the morning.
Has anyone else had this, and does anyone know why it is happening?

are you perhaps around other babies again? Or even perhaps pregnant again?

This may seem OT but... have you recently fallen pregnant?
Otherwise I haven't a clue.

Happened to me initially when I fell pregnant the second time after nearly a year off B/F.
Like Shirena suggested though, maybe it is just from a hormone surge caused by someone else's baby?
What a pain though, its bad enough having to dry off the first time!

Haven't really been around other babies lately.
Don't know if pregnant, just had a period, but it was shorter than usual, only lasted 2 days. Maybe I need to do a test. I abit scared now that you have all suggested that, as I really don't know how we would cope with another baby just yet.
Yeah it is a pain, the first morning I woke up and actually had to change sheets on bed because there was so much leakage.
Thanks for your replies ladies, am off to the supermarket this arvo, might have to get a test while there and find out.

Tell us when you find out. Bleeding might be implantation bleeding.

Went to supermarket, but came out empty handed, Xanda had a poosplosion in the middle of the supermarket, so I just walked out. He has been sick for the past couple of days but only vomiting, I guess today the diaroeha decided to come as well, and what great timing it has. Will go back to supermarket 2mrw, and get my groceries plus test.
Will keep you updated.

Remember to test early in the morning with the first morning pee. Hormones is the most concentrated then.

bumping up- did you ever find out what was happening?? curious as this morning when i got up i walked into the kitchen and felt really wet there, looked down and my nipple was leaking and i have been dry for ages now. there is a very very VERY small chance i could be preggers, like so minute that it would be a miracle- im 1 week away from AF i just found it weird, as like i said earlier the last time that happened was just before (about a week) i found out i was pregnant with kayla.
TMI- hubby and i had a bit of fun last week without protection but he didnt O or anything thats why it would be next to impossible just confused.

Sorry to keep you all in suspense ladies, things have been pretty hectic here this last week. I did the test and... a big fat NEGATIVE, which is a big relief for us at the moment. I tell you it was a bit of a scare as we use double protection, pill and condom because I am so paranoid about it happening.
Leaking is still going though but has slowed down considerably. Found out the lady next door to us has just had twins, they were very prem and have only just come home from hospital 2 weeks ago, which kind of coincides with when leaking began, so don't really know if that could be why.

Yip that could be it. Your mommy instincts takes over your body. It happens quite often if there is another baby around that you will start leaking all of a sudden or woman that have stopped BF will produce milk again.
Should clear up soon.
