We are all right handed in my family, and my DF is right handed, so Im pretty sure Caden will be right handed, but then he could suprise us and start a new trend of left handed peeps in the family!

That's interesting. My brother with cerebral palsy is left handed too - maybe for the same reason (??).

My dad is left handed but like Emma's he was beaten at school for writing with his left so he learnt to use both. My parents had 4 biological kids and my older sis and I are right handed while my brother and younger sis are lefties.

I'm a twin (fraternal, born at 31 weeks) and both my sister and I are right handed, so is all our family. DH's brother is a leftie though so it is in the family

Ohhh I did a mini study on this for a genetics paper YEARS ago and it went something along the lines of: 15% of the population is left handed and left handed-ism is a genetic trait that is usually only found in mirror twins which is why it can run in some families (as there are strong links that it is possibly the male sperm carry the DNA that splits eggs to make twins identical/mirror) and not in others.
There is SOME guff online that I have read about "too many US scans causing left handedness" but TBH it is only a 3% rise in the population that was scanned compared to the population that was not so I don't see that as significant enough rise to call it fact!

I think the bigger question is... do you lefties ever feel like you are missing something? Or someone?
