Topic: Has this happened to you..? Posted: 12 July 2007 at 9:50pm |
I just had one of those newer type (round) ecobulb EXPLODE, right behind me. Thank goodness the girls are in bed otherwise we could have been in a bit of strife, it is in a general working area. It wasn't even turned on, had turned it off to stop the static on the monitor. Quietly sitting here going thru Oh Baby to see whats new then boom, even the top part of the light - with the metal piece on it blew out. Just getting my heart rate back to normal & trying to get all the glass shards picked up so there is no accidents tomorrow

Not with one of the new bulbs, but we had a couple of the normal ones do it at our last place. Luckily we were all in bed and it was only Willie getting up to go to work who turned it on coz the glass went everywhere!

You have to check the chemicals in the eco bulbs - because they can have neon type chemicals inside they can be dangerous. Ahhh eco-friendly products

Yeah none of mine have lasted 5 years, some have lasted a lot longer but the ones in the main areas of the house arn't lasting any longer than normal bulbs - not seeing any difference on the power bill either.
OMG busymum what a morning!! I have had to fish in an insinkerator for knives & forks but never a tap head!?!
