Topic: I dont know how you do it? Posted: 27 March 2007 at 1:02pm |
Today I have been looking after my adorable 2 year old nephew! I love him to bits and he is an absolute treasure and very well behaved, but its lunchtime and I am absolutley exhausted already!
Although I figure its prob easier when they are your own children as you have toys etc to keep them entertained. I have a couple of toys and books for him, but not many - so we went to the park and fed the ducks, and I have finally got him down for a nap!
I have a new admiration for all you SAHMs with toddlers....!

yep, it is hard, but you get used to it! And, when you can look in on that cute, sleeping toddler at night, your heart just breaks all over again...

I so second that. As much as Andrew can drive me up the wall with the "i'm hungry" all the time I love going into his room when he is asleep and watching him there so peaceful.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I absolutely love it when she naps. She looks so adorable and such an angel. and I can actually catch my breath a bit. This mothering thing is hard.

You get into a routine/rythm as well and that helps. And when you're pregnant and tired, you treasure the sleep times lol!

Don't count on that theory working.
I don't know how SAHMs with toddlers do it either - Hannah drives me absolutely bananas after hanging for less than an hour. Hence scheduled playdates for the next 2 years.

I don't know how you do it either. When I was a student I had to look after a 3yr old only 3 mornings a week before kindy, after the first week I was exhausted and had a cold.
I guess you build up a resisitance when you start at minus 9months. Almost put me off motherhood.

You need to rotate toys and continually think up new activities But I like that! Then there's always visits to the supermarket/park/library whenever you need a change.
