Don't want to be a downer on this website, but a few months ago I was diagnosed with post natal depression. I am starting to come out the other side now, but would still like to chat with people who have been through the same thing. I am on medication, which I don't like, but can see the benefits of it. I haven't told a huge amount of people because I am still unsure of reactions and being judged and still like to put on a bit of a mask about doing such an amazing job as a mum! Is there anyone out there who wants to chat and let me know their story/experiences etc?

Well youve come to the right place!! I personally havent been through PND but there are plenty of fantastic mums here that have, or have helped others with that are open and willing to share their experiences. Congrats on being able to talk about it here. Good luck!

Its not a downer sometimes it is a fact after having a baby. There are a number of us on here that have suffered from PND after having a baby so some of us have been there and know what it is like. Do a search of PND and you will find a number of posts.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

i watched an interesting Oprah show with Brooke shields yesterday on this topic...have you read her book? It sounded very honest and open for a celebrity to have come out with her experiences and honest thoughts while going through PND....it is called Down came the Rain.

As for your journey with PND I wish you all the best...and as Brooke Shields said "and then out came the sun."

You're not a downer! I haven't had PND but at one stage I was wondering and I too dreaded what others - even family - would think, so big hugs!

How old is your baby? and toddler as well I think? It's a big job, give yourself a pat on the back (and a bowl of ice-cream! )
