Isnt it so stressful when you are trying to sell your house... Weve had nothing but bad luck!. First offer fell thorugh cos it was illegally done by agent and the buyer then we get another offer at the asking price, possession date at the end of November , everything we wanted and now this is the second day we are having to wait for the buyers to send through the offer signed... Think they might be having second thoughts... I wish they would just let us know yes or No so we can get on with life and come to the reality that we might be stuck here till after Xmas...
We are looking at having an auction but we have to hurry and make a decision fast before all the solicitors etc close down for Xmas...
Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to let it out...
bummer! selling a house is supposed to be one of the most stressful things to do . full sympathy. I have heard that auctions arent always the best way to go cause you may get pushed into taking a lesser offer... good luck with it all.
Selling our house is something we don't want to go through for a very very long time. We had all types of hassles when we sold our previous one. Good luck!
why would you consider an auction - and all those additional costs when you dont have buyers all lining up to buy your house now!!! dont do it!!!
ad for lawyers being shut - settlements do happen still....mainly people avoid xmas to new year but most offices have skeleton staff on...check with your lawyers BEFORE you sign the agreement in any event....dont just jump in and sign even as sellers! (now THAT was a freebie!!!)
yeah i agree, although you may not get your lawyer specifically the office will always have skeleton staff on to do whatever comes up.
and I also wouldnt go down the auction road. sure it works for some but its normally something out of the ordinary not your everyday house. The costs are huge and they hardly ever sell. If your unsure what about doing something like tenders? You could just say all offers will be presented on ..... date to your real estate agent or solicitor.
When we brought this house recently it was soooo stressful. The vendor was stuck in the australian floods and couldnt get to a fax to read the contract so we had to wait for two days before we new if it was accepted hoping that no one got in with a better offer in the mean time.
Still have not heard, only that the buyers are still keen and need to jsut to a few more things first before signing... I dunno what they are doing but anyway we have decided to leave the auction process and wait till after xmas.
After all it is only around the corner....
Also there is not much rentals around at this time of the year so wont really have anywhere to go just yet and we were going to have a big family xmas at this house in which we were just going to cancel..
