Topic: Stupid boobs! Posted: 12 February 2007 at 11:26am |
I am so sick of my boobs!
Since I stopped feeding Benjy at night I have had 4 breast infections, all in different places.
Luckily I have been able to massage and feed the others out but this last one is incredibly painful and in an awkward place on the underside of my boob.
I can't get in to see my doctor today so we're off to after hours tonight if its still bad.
Grrr to my stupid annoying boobs!!

Thanks everyone. Its still there and still painful but I'm not sick with it so am avoiding the doc and hoping it goes of its own accord.
I think my bra's are ok, no underwires and they seem to fit properly...

When I stopped feeding Lachlan which wasn't that long ago I still wore those lovely maternity bras for a couple of weeks. By the beginning of day 2 with not feeding him anymore I was in sheer agony as well. Took a couple of days but they came right. No infection thank goodness like yourself. I did the whole massage thing in the shower and had frozen vege packs on them at one stage.

Do you still wear your bras at night? I had ermm a not so good sleeper so I was still feeding at night for a while, but on the occasion that she did sleep through, my breasts would be really sore, and I had mastitis 4 times
I found taking the bra off at night helped! even though with breastfeeding you are meant to leave it on. They fitted me fine but when my boobs were bursting with milk they dug into me a bit.. oh man it's been a while!!

I didn't realise you're supposed to wear maternity bras at night? What about if you keep on night feeding until 10 months? (God forbid!)
In these early weeks I always wear a maternity bra to bed because otherwise I fill up and leak all over the place But once all that settles down I'll be glad to leave it for days only! At one stage I had an unfitted sports bra - it basically was like a shelf bra - that I used for a little support at nights and I was still able to put breastpads in.
And Mel, going to bed with no bra for the first time in ages on Valentine's Day might send an interesting message!!!

HAHAHAHA!!! I'd forgotten about that! I wonder what message Aaron will take from it?! (Although I suppose it might depend on what I do wear, or don't wear )
