I think but not sure that Plunket is cheapest to hire from. Ours was about $65 incl $30 bond. Is a pretty average, old carseat but I think most people are happy with the ones they hire out. Depends on where you live how much it costs too - ie Auck is more expensive than Dannevirke! lol

I've just looked into hiring an infant capsule from Plunket. They've told me it's $75 for 6 months, but then you get $40 back when you return it. So $35 for 6 months seemed pretty reasonable.

Baby factory also sell ex-hire ones - they are used 3 times then sold and are throughly checked over between each hirage and before they are sold to you - they are about $75 each and usually pretty good condition - and then, once you are finished with it you can sell it on, or keep it. best to go and find out though cos they usually have a list of people wanting them - but go according to who is due next as to who gets them.

We found plunket was best, we paid $65 for 6 months and got $30 back. We had to extend our hire as abby was to light to go up into the next seat and they were great we extended our hire for an addtional 3 months and didn't have to pay anything for the extra time.

I deffently would say baby factory is best as they are only used three times before they sell them and so you know it is quite new. It does cost a little bit more then plunket but they also have more to rent ouut.

I hired mine (capsule) from plunket for $95, I get $50 back. The seat was like new and was clean and tidy (that was a big issue for me).....I can use this till Zaara is 6 months but she is already on the second belt and will fit in it for another month or so....but still good value!!! I will buy the next carseat.

I hired mine from plunket for $85, $40 i get back. Xanda started on the second slot for the belt and is already too long for it, his feet hang over the end, so am returning it this wk as my cousin has just given us her one that is suitable for birth-4years. The capsule we hired from plunket had only been used once before so was very tidy. But ring the plunket number in your area and from there they can put you thru to the carseat rental scheme where you can ask about prices and hirage within your area.
