what is the going rate for babysitters in auckland? What do you guys pay?

You could get in touch with these guys, apparently their babysitters are very good and I've been recommended them by a couple of mums

I think must people pay anywhere from $10-$18 an hour for babysitting.

Whoa, $18 an hour?!? I remember babysitting for $5! Then again, I've paid $10 an hour for a babysitter for Ella.

I used to get $10 then it went up to $13 an hour...

I have a friend who currently works as a nanny but also does casual babysitting in Auckland.. I'm not sure what her babysitting rates are but if you're interested I can pass on her details :)

She's a qualified Nanny :)

We have two babysitters (aside from grandma). One asks for $30 for the night (say 7.30pm - 12am) and dinner, and the other charges $16 per hour.

I am a qualified nanny and through a nanny agency it is about $12+ but $10 an hour is pretty much the going rate.depending on how they are and their experience.
