I just need to have a small grrrrrr about my DH...

We bought a new bed, which was supposed to be delivered this afternoon at 1.30. All week long I've been asking DH what he was doing this morning, so I could be sure we'd have enough time to clean up the bedroom, move the old bed out, vacuum, etc before the new bed came, as well as look after the baby. He said he was going to the post office but had no other plans, so I assumed -- stupid me -- that he'd be home to help.

So this morning he gets up and says he's not only going to the post office, he's going to work, as work has been busy and everyone is doing overtime. No mention of this all week, of course. He swore up and down that he would be home in plenty of time to help finish off the bedroom. I'm looking around, thinking, "There's at least an hour of full-on work to get this room ready, and I can't do any of it while the baby is awake." But he kept insisting it would take us no time at all to get ready, and he would definitely be home, so I should stop worrying.

So I spent the morning looking after the baby as usual, stripping the old bed, moving as much stuff as I could on my own, and kept on assuming he'd be home in time...

Well, wouldn't you know it, the bed guys showed up half an hour early, and DH still wasn't home yet. I answered the door with a screaming baby, and barking dog, and a bedroom that was not at all ready for a new bed to be installed. So I had to throw the baby in her cot, throw the dog in the kitchen, and run around trying to get things ready myself. The bed guys moved the old bed for me (just leaned it up against the wall) but I had to quickly vacuum while they started bringing bed parts in, and shift all the other furniture against the wall myself, while the baby screamed, while the dog barked...

I could STRANGLE him! WHAT is so hard about getting things done ahead of time???

(Evil laugh) I am now forcing him to clean out the garage as penance -- it is SHOCKING and instead of merely clearing a space for the old bed to be stored, I've told him I want it completely reorganised. Who says guilt is a bad thing?
