We have some too. We have 5 caterpillars now, and one just turned into a chrysalis today - the caterpillar curled up and went to sleep almost, then today it was green.

Just a warning - those things EAT! We've had to buy 5 new plants for them, because they keep on eating!

OK so I have thought some more about them. Even thou we have heaps around our place I think Andrew would love them as he loves the Hungry Catterpiller book. Are they easy to care for. Can I just get a few plants and stick them in a pot and they'll grow??

We have moths on our tomato plants, i looked today and saw big white on it and thought was spider web but it's not, there's a couple of caterpillars in there in various states of changing and one moth that had just come out.

I'd love monarchs though, i see them flying around our place lots, I love them so much.

got ours from the awapuni market for $1-50. i'm going to the market on sunday Becks if you want me to pick you up one. they come complete with either eggs (that hatch rather quickly) or a caterpillar. we have five - i counted and we definitely need another four plants. As for care, i shoved them into the ground outside and ignored them. so far so good.!

My mum is terrified of caterpillars, as in, she will cry and scream, and if I ever got a swan plant she would never come over.

Pepsi, did you know in Japan most caterpillars are poisonous. My mate was over - he was a construction worker. him and his mates saw a caterpillar and these burly guys panicked. my mate went over and removed it - thinking what is these guys problem? and his hand instantly swelled to twice it's size.
