Topic: Giving ? Up Support thread! Posted: 23 November 2009 at 10:46pm |
There is a 2WW support thread, a weightloss support thread, TTC & TTnotC thread so how about a " I have to give up but don't really want to" support thread.
So I'm trying to give up Coffee <gulp> and Chocolate! I've also had to give up all dairy products & products that contain dairy so am feeling pretty sorry for myself.
I managed to get through until about 5pm without a coffee & then had a "real" one around at my parents.
My reasons for giving up is Cooper, I think he has reflux & we are going to the Dr armed with info on thursday, but in the meantime I'm trying to do anything to make him feel better.
Am wondering if Decaf counts? Is it the caffeine that is what upsets reflux?

Not sure about decaf, sorry.
But I am giving up "V", the energy drink... it was the only way I could survive two babies and full-time study! So having a v-tox atm, lol.
Also trying to stop biting my nails, but not very successfully.

Ah stink one, I would cry if I had to give up coffee. I usually only have one a day (morning brew) but miss that if I don't have it. Tried drink decaf when first got pregnant but soon decided it was making me tired - or the lack of caffeine was!

I'm working on cutting down the coffee - one wee brewed pot a day then it's strictly tea. I was on decaf only during pregnancy. Then I had a newborn, and tried to build a house :D Managed that....thanks to coffee
Once I've run out of this pack I might go to decaf, but I've just dicovered my machine (I've never used it before, its MIL's spare and I didn't think it would be THAT different).
Can you get decaf for the machines?

Screw the tea Flake, I'm sure it's got just as much caffeine as coffee, plus all the tannins as well. Not sure if you can get decaf for machines. Not helping you give it up, but a coffee from a machine is much better for you than instant I guess cause it's closer to the original product?
ATM I would like a coffee, one little boy who hasn't slept in about 6 1/2 hours!
For sure Gardengirl...anything that you need motivation for & help with staying on track
