Topic: Some people.... Posted: 18 January 2007 at 9:28pm |
...are just so kind!!!
While I was in hospital with Krystiana (had a 2 day stay post-birth) our neighbour came over and saw DH putting up a makeshift fence over a one-metre gap which is the only thing making our backyard not fully enclosed. Well they had a little chat about what the ideal gate would look like (which we had actually tried to buy from Bunnings but they had nothing in the right size) and the next day our neighbour called DH over and presented him with a wooden fence made to fit! A couple of hinges, screws, and catch later, and DH has a gate up so the kids can now play outside without us needing to always watch them.
Also, two groups of friends have organised amongst themselves for us to have dinners provided every day until this Sunday or Monday. We actually had two lots of dinners on the first two days lol so there's some in our freezer as well. They've all done two courses, anything from chicken and bacon wraps to lasagne, and rhubarb crumble to ambrosia! We've been eating like royalty DB who boards with us is kidding that I'm gonna have another baby next month so history will repeat LOL
Anyway I was just so encouraged and amazed that I just HAD to tell you all

It's wonderful to be reminded, in the face of all the terrible things going on in the world, that there *are* still immensely good people out there!

That's sooo lovely. And a big congrats on the birth of Krystiana ... I've been offline a few days and had missed that she had arrived.

They are really wonderful people to help out, but I also have to say that they are a reflection on you and your family. People would not be so willing to rush round and offer support, if you weren't the kind of people who deserve the love and support of others.
