Hey, I can't really talk - both labours, I was required by the hospital to have a lure in, which was inserted after a local, and another local was given before they stiched up the tears after having Kiya... yet both kids were delivered drug free! I'm just weird!

Im allergic to pethadine and the gas made me throw up, so I had the epi. I had been very anti epidurals (thank you antenatal classes!) but it was the best thing! If I had a chance next time round I would def have one again, but am hoping for a much shorter labour!

We dont get the option of an epidural here. I think if I had Hannah in Palmy I would have asked for one!

In Dannevirke. The only drugs we can have are gas and pethidine. Only get sent to Palmy if things arent going well or if baby breech.

Bugger that - I'm too much of a sook! I always dreamed about birthing at Birthcare, but they only have gas and pethidine, and I am too chicken!

I had two epi's with Arna, the cute anethestiast (sp?) was putting it in while I was having a contraction and it went too far... No-one even told me about it UNTIL I complained for 4 days of a major headache...
Anyway if I had the epi put in when I WASNT having a contraction I think I would have it again... but not now!! (i love scaring ppl!)

You just cope without an epidural because you have no choice.I remember thinking I wish i was in palmy so I could have one, but realised I just had to get on with it! |
