yeah im really not keen on it now, thanks everyone for the imput. funny so far not one person has really said its any good as a long term solution. Im going to ring Jenny Craig tomorrow and get some info from them and go to my doctor next week and see what she suggests but at this stage Im thinking i will head to weight watchers next week. Problem now is my husband wants to do sureslim and im not sure how to say i dont want to waste the money without it sounding like i dont think he is worth spending the money on if that makes sense.

Have you told him everything we told you? Maybe if he has a read, he will see why it isn't something you think is worthwhile.
It is not a programme that fits into family meals, you would be cooking at least 2 different meals with it if you were on WW and he on Sureslim. With WW, you would be able to cook 1 with minor adjustments to suit each family member.

I think everything that needs to be said has been said re: SureSlim, I had a old flatmate do it and only kept the weight off for a year !
I'm not a personal fan of Jenny Craig either, considering you're only allowed to buy their food ! I looked into this back when I was a uni student, and not only were there the 'fees' but something like $90 for food per week NOT including extra fruit and veges or anything. It simply wasn't possible !
I'm a WW fan too, although I struggle with weight loss in general, boohoo
And please excuse all the exclamation marks...

I had heard that JG only let you buy THEIR food and thought that was unfair. At least with WW you can have the choice to buy their food if you want to.

I thought of letting him read this thread but hmmm dont want him to know how to come nosing into this website, just incase
The only good thing about JG is that the meals are prepared for you and for us thats a major bonus cos I really suck at cooking and hubbys hours are all over the place. I phoned a friend whos sister works there today though and its $135 per person for a weeks food and yeah you have to buy your own dairy, fruits and vegetables.
Maybe i just need to go to ww and buy one of thier cook books and every sunday have a big cook up and make the meals in advance for the week. Its gonna be so hard cos easter eggs and hot cross buns are on sale now (almost put hot cross bums.... wonder if they are tasty) BUT i can resist. By the time my sister comes back from england in two years im going to be super skinny and she wont recognise me!

Print it out for him!
Good luck with whatever you choose - you sound nice and committed, so that is most of the battle

robyn, i think you are better off going to WW than anything else. you can get the books off trademe but make sure they are 2005 edition or later as they changed the way they worked out the points i think that's the right year....
