This is really gross but here goes...

Can babies get worms??

I noticed today when cleaning off Brennas nappy some dark brown 'things' that looked like bits of cotton thread about 4 - 5mm long in her poos. Are these worms? or just the remains of something she's eaten?

Thanks!

Worms are usually white. I was told to check their bum out at night with a torch as that is when they come out.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I think worms are white too what has she eaten the last couple of days I think it's more likely to be something she's eaten. I also heard about checking their bums at night too.

I worry about Maya getting worms, but the tablets we get for her say not for babies under 1 so I don't know what you do if babies have them?
But Gandt is right, you wouldn't see them in her nap, you'd have to do what Becks suggests and shine a flashlight on her bottom while she's sleeping at night.
With Maya I worm her if she starts complaining that her "bottom is wiggly" (itchy).

Eewwww    I was gonna say banana aswell - you know when you make banana cake there are little "threads" through it? Ashleigh poo's look a bit like that if she has had alot of banana
