Ok i really dont plan on TTC until mid next year but when i do i will be using every old wives tale and theory on how to have a girl (a friend of mine is going to be doing the same around the same time). In the interest of being prepared and having plenty of ideas i thought id ask now.
So what have you heard about that supposedly results in having a girl baby?

You should look up the Shettles method, basically you temp etc and find out when you Ov, then do the deed 2-3 days beforehand and that's it. Girl sperm swim slower but last longer (hence why you do it before ov), boy sperm swim faster but die quicker (so if you want a boy, you would do it all the time around Ov).
I'll be looking at this thread as I plan on getting a girl this time too! We are TTC in Sept/Oct but not too concerned about not TTC at the mo.

Oh, Jenny in our AN group (Annabel's mum) used the Shettles method to conceive Annabel, so maybe you could email her?

Awesome i figured if it involves temping and stuff i should look into it now so i can work out my cycle before hand and at least have a fair idea when is a good time for putting away the 10ft pole each month. |

I'll let you know in January .  We know when the deed was done but not when I ovulated.  Our 7 week scan put us back a week (which I think is a stretch but 3-4 days is possible).  In that case we did "it" 3-4 days before ovulation and didnt do anything again afterwards so that should make girl.   It wasnt intentional...just how things happened |

Bahaha 10ft pole! I seem to have lost mine and Daniel keeps on jumping me! (not that I mind much )
TA are your cycles regular? Cos temping would be perfect if you have cycles again.

Just thought I'd mention that apparently if you have any fert problems, trying for a girl can be difficult, cos all the things you do (BD a few days before Ov, rather than just before etc) actually make it harder to conceive so only the stronger girl sperm make it (if that makes sense).
 Good luck anyway! |
