Has anyone done this? Experiences and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also, what is the best time of year weatherwise? Cheers!

We went there for our honeymoon, in April 06.. it was gorgy at that time of year. It wasn't mega hot (sat around 25 degrees most days) and it was still beautiful weather. We were told buy the receptionist at our hotel that it was the perfect time of year to go, missing the busy season and cyclone season.

We went to a friends wedding in Raro at the start of Oct which is supposidly a great time to go. The wedding was nice but the weather was blaaa...we only had 1 fine day in 6 days. The weather kinda clouded our judgement (no pun intended) and we didn't really enjoy it.
Most people rave about it though and the wedding itself was amazing.

We stayed at Pacific Resort on the Muri Lagoon. There is a little island 100m or so out which is called the "wedding island" where everyone gets married. It is really cute and you get to plant a coconut tree and carve your names and wedding date into rocks to put at the base |

Very popular place to get married but yes, if you go in our summer you may find that you'll get some rain. I've travelled heaps (travel agent) and can always remember when I arrived in Raro, everyone was so laid back and relaxed that you couldn't but help start to relax. Of all the wedding groups we do, we do far more for Raro than Fiji

I havn't been to Raro but have been to a wedding on a really small island in Fiji which was fantastic the biggest thing was getting the cake & choice of flowers. My SIL went for fake or is it faux gerberas which looked fantastic. Not sure about Raro but in Fiji you need to be there 3 days before the wedding, the one we went to was in April which is suposed to be just after their wetter season, we had a mixture while there but the day of the wedding was sunshine all the way and I got some great photos of the couple just on dusk which looked divine. I'm also looking forward to going to another wedding, but on the mainland, in Fiji next August!!!

Thanks everyone. We have decided that May would be a good time. I cant believe how much cheaper and far less stressful it is and you get your honeymoon at the same time (we would have never been able to afford one).
