I have a been using itti bitti SIOs for my son which I love. He only gets about 3 hours out of them - heavy wetter and they dont last over night but otherwise I love them. Problem is he is still having the mustard coloured yellow running poops most days. I use a flushable liner, but the poop goes straight through to the nappy and over the side spilling onto the nappy. I dry pail and wash every 2nd day then put in the sun, however only when the sun is out! The nappies still have stains on them - how do you get them out as you cant use bleach etc, and the nappy outers are all colours? Love your suggestions? Thanks

Napisan works well, I use the pink one. I also wet pail dirty nappies and the stains seem to come out better

i thought napisan wrecked the waterproofing and elastic and we were not spose to use on MCN??? With wet pail - just water? How long do you leave them to soak prior to washing? Are you using itti bitti?

With my ittis (and I have lots  ) and poo (lots of that too) I tip what I can down the loo, flushing it on the liner or nappy whichever is worse! Then I lightly scrub the rest off with an old dishwash brush in the laundry sink. Rinse them well and squeeze out any excess water, I then leave them in a bucket in the sink until I wash. I only dry pail naps that haven't been pooed in.
I wash mine with soap nuts and thats all I use. Gets rid of all the smell....sometimes if its a really nasty poo the stain is very light but is normally gone when I bring it in off the line.

I do the same with my itti (yes only one and I want more!) I rinse off the poo and scrub using a nail brush then just wash as normal. Even if it's not a sunny day the sun will still get most stains out. Failing that I use a bit of sunlight soap scrub and rinse then wash.

No I am using homemade pocket nappies. I havn't noticed any problems with the waterproofing or elastic
Thats basically what I do as well, although I often leave them soaking in water after I have scrubed them

What washing powder are people using to wash MCNs? I am a bit confused about what I should be using as I have a range of different MCNs and they all recommend different washing powders.

the nappy lady i deal with told me that anything with enzymes in its ingredients is bad, so i dont use persil anymore. Surf dosnt so i have just been using that

Has anyone experienced colours running with washing cloth?
Wanting to start building up my nappy stash, reluctant to get reds and dark colours in case they run. As they'll all be going into the wash together.

Manda you have just answered my question - thank you so much!!!! lol I have been wanting to know if i could use surf. I wanted to chuck a couple covers in with some kids clothes but was sure if i could use normal powder 
Does nappy san have enzymes?
