our good friend is the fireman thats up in middlemore. its not looking very good for him and its devastating to watch my DP try to come to terms with possibly losing his close mate.
certainly makes our ttc problems pale in comparison to what his family and friends are going through right now.
our prayers are with you, merv

This is why the firefighters are always the top most trusted professionals. They are the ones that give their lives to save other people and other peoples properties.
Big hugs to all the firefighters and the paramedics and doctors treating those that were injured. My thoughts are with them and their friends and families.

It is horrible. We live about three minutes down the road and our house shook when it all exploded. Seeing those ambulances racing past with sirens going, in the direction of the hospital afterwards, and all the emergency vehicles made my stomach turn. I have been praying for them ever since.
DH's parents live pretty much across the road, they thought something like a car had hit their house when it happened. The flames were visible above the massive trees across the road from their property - so scary. We're still seeing the smoke today.
My heart goes out to all the people involved, it is completely surreal and so devastating.
