Topic: Lets play..... "whats that stain?!" Posted: 31 December 2009 at 9:14am |
I was just looking around at my carpet and realised there are about a million and one little (and not so little) stains all over it! Here we have the stain where Maia was eating a banana and decided to show off her crawling skills with it still in her hand, there we have the stain where Mikey knocked his entire plate of spaghetti bolognaise off the table. Most of the stains though, I'm not even sure how they got there, maybe the stain fairy came along in the night.
Tell me i'm not the only one! Does anyone else have stains (identifiable or not) on their carpet?

Ugh, ours is terrible. And we don't even have children to blame it on (although we do get the odd one visiting... but I think it would be stretching the truth just a bit to blame every stain on them ). I'm getting it cleaned sometime this summer, it's got spots everywhere.

yep and we have only been here since August and I use mats under the table and "try" to limit where the kids have their food and when the sun shines just so you see so many stains....we've decided we will get them cleaned once a year.

yup shocking here. although quite a few of the stains do have a history and a story there are still heaps that are unidentified.

We have wooden floors in all room but one and that one room seems to be where everything is spilled The worst stain we have (well I guess its not really a stain) was a burnt patch in the carpet, later we found out if was from one of DH's friend playing with burning kindling and not bothering to do anything about it. Apparently our girls made crumbs on their carpet, so it was payback.

I get our carpets cleaned at least 3-4 times a year cos of the stains. The carpet really needs replacing in the living areas, it's about 10 yrs old now and has had A LOT of foot traffic.

lol....someone at Daizy's house practicing their typing!??
This whole place was new at Easter, and the carpets are awful. BLW bubs and a pup..mess. They improved greatly after a rug doctor but there are still a few I can't get of, I'm not sure anyone else notice's them so much though, just me because I am always here.
And food colouring does stain. I assumed it didn't and let Hollie 'paint' with it. I didn't worry too much when she crawled from kitchen to carpet. Oooops

Yep, fortunately we have a green carpet which hides the stains particularly well Hated the colour of the carpet when we moved in but have learnt to love it!!!!

no stains at all......cause my carpet is really dark. fabulous.
but prior to that, we had light carpet in the dining room (seriously, who carpets dining rooms????) and it was appalling.
We just cleaned the carpets - with the rug doctor. wasn't very good with stains but fantastic for getting rid of dog hair (which the dog made sure was back the next day)
We are much harder on the kids now they are older. We also have a deck which is largely protected from the elements. I make the kids eat every meal out there now it's summer.

Just remembered y cousins used to eat like little piggies - literally. it was so gross and Granddad made them sit outside on newspaper I swear the youngest was like 7 before he was allowed to eat inside.

My carpet is fairly stain free (for now) except somehow there are yellow pee marks from when my dog was only 2 months old and slept in my room. I put newspaper down and it still soaked through and stained! I didn't know puppy pee could stain a GREY carpet yellow It's not even a light shade of grey!
Lizzle I just had a mental image of a kid covered in food growling if anyone comes too close XD

Our carpets are awful - they are dark but you can still see stains all over. I am getting them cleaned as soon as DD is fully TT (no more accidents)

Jelly - you have no idea how accurate that is. no wonder the lot of them are as big as houses.
