QuoteReplyTopic: Advice Please! Too early for a BFP? Posted: 24 May 2008 at 11:30pm
Hello All :)
Due to my partner being called out of town we only managed to BD once, on May 11th. (Awww, a special mothers day!)
AF was due on the 20th, my cycle is very regular and predictible. I've been testing away like mad, but have got nothing but BFNs so far.
Doc says to wait another 10 days and then if its still coming up i'll get a blood test. Her reasoning is that if we BD'd on the 11th the spermie could possibly have survived to fertalise on the 15th then add 12 days to implantation (May 27th) then a couple more for HGC levels to rise...
Does that all sound about right? What do you all think? Am i testing too early even though my period was due on Monday?
maebee, your not testing too early, some women just don't test positive on HPT's. Some of the women here have been well into the their pregnancies (like almost the second trimester) before finally getting a BFP on a HPT (after confirming it with blood work already).
4 days is a long time for sperm to survive unless they have an exceptionally welcoming environment. Is AF always right on time for you? I'd call your dr back and ask to have bloods done this week, it's silly for you to waist money on HPT's when a quick blood test will tell you yes or no, your HGC levels will already be on the rise if your pregnant. Good luck.
