I just have a question for you regarding peptic-junior...did your little one get really bad nappy rash on this formula..
Rhiannon has never had nappy rash and since being on this formula (well since about day 3) she has had nappy rash and nothing is getting rid of it.
going to ring the doctor today and have a chat with the nurse but yeah...have tried creams, putting her in disposables, etc etc.

Just had a thought Kaz... is it a blotchy red kind of rash or a spotty one? Is the skin broken at all?

Sounds a bit like thrush. Has Rhiannon been on antibiotics while she's been sick? Antobiotics are a common cause of thrush.
We never had any probs with Maya on the Pepti Jnr, her exczema etc. cleared up pretty quickly.
It's possible that the rash is a left over from the diarrohea - I know when Maya had diarrohea really bad she got bad nappy rash because no matter how often I changed her her nappies were always dirty.
I wouldn't think it's the formula, mainly because Rhiannon has been having dairy in her diet and hasn't had a rash so the hydrolysed proteins in the formula should be even easier for her system to break down, hence why it's good for lactose intolerant bubs. Generally speaking if a dairy allergy/intolerance is suspected they trial Pepti to see if the sypmtoms improve (they won't worsen as the hydolysed protein chains are more acceptable to the immune system than staright dairy) but if symptoms don't improve they switch to Neocate which is 100% dairy free and based on amino acids (thats what the gremlins are on).
Hope this helps, and that your doc has some ideas about whats causing the rash!

Just to jump in and add my two cents worth. Addison has had the same sort of splotchy dotty thing and had it for ages and ages. Just clicked now when Emma mentioned the antibiotics that it was probably thrush as it started after she was on antibiotics for an ear infection but I brought some Daktozin which is for babies. its a fungal cream and i figured it was worth a try as the chemist said it was better to treat something as a fungal type infection than treat a fungal infection with just basic nappy rash creams and it cleared up the area within a day, it was amazing the results!
